2014 Merlot
Garnet in color. This merlot is very expressive of sweet baking spice, plum, dark cherry, and cocoa. The palate tastes much like it smells with lots of dark fruit and sweet spice but with the addition of pepper on the finish. This is a fleshy wine being full bodied and rounded but balanced. The tannins are dusty and grippy and accentuate the long peppery finish.
Tasting notes
This is a beautiful, lush version of Virginia Merlot! Rich, intense aromas of cherry cola and eucalyptus, The same flavors graced with the supple tannin and licorice that Merlot is known for. A truly exceptional experience. Pairs well with filet mignon, mushroom risotto, or gorgonzola.
