2001 Merlot
100% Merlot grapes. The grapes for this wine were sourced from 1 new, and 1 older block of Merlot grapes on the Short Hill slopes at Breaux Vineyards. Aged 30 months in a combination of American and French oak barrels. A highly decorated, gold medal wine, coast to coast with excellent aging potential.
Tasting notes:
Color: Garnet
Aromas: Concentrated aromas suggest dried fruit with a pleasant, roasted quality.
Taste: Fully extracted flavors of jammy plum and dark cherry fill the palate. The tannins are firm, but well balanced with a spicy and lingering finish.
Food Pairing: Use this wine to best compliment your fullest flavored red meat or game dishes.

Tasting notes
Beautiful floral aromas burst from the glass, led by pronounced notes of violets and layered by classic Bordeaux fruit character. A tantalizing streak of salted black licorice cuts through the palate, adding a deliciously, savory depth. Lightly toasted barrels lend freshness and subtle texture without overshadowing the fruit. Plush and rounded on the palate, this wine reflects a restrained winemaking approach focused on guiding, rather than shaping, the fruit expression. The finish is savory, broad, and still firmly tannic, carrying lingering notes of ripe red plum and stone fruits.
