Bring the island spirit to Virginia wine country! Show off your creativity and Key West flair by participating in our Tent Decorating Contest during the Key West Festival at Breaux Vineyards.

“Gather your crew. Claim your corner. Make it Key West iconic.”

RULES -

-Tent must be 10 ft. x 10 ft. or smaller.  Pop-up style tents are preferred. Tents must be staked or weighed down.

-Must register by July 15.  Must also purchase tickets to Festival.  We will assign tent locations by July 17. Tent locations will not have access to electricity, but we encourage LED lights or battery-operated decorations.

-Setup time = 10 AM, Completion Time = 1 PM, Judging Time = 2:30 PM

-Guests must bring their own tents & lawn chairs! 

Theme Requirements:
Tent decorations must reflect beach vibes, Key West island life, and a touch  of Breaux Vineyards wine love or Virginia wine country charm.

Set-Up Time:
Tents must be fully set up and decorated by 1:00 PM on the day of the festival to be eligible for judging. Contestants may enter at 10:00 AM to begin decorating. Up to 4 people may enter at this time. Each person must have a ticket to the festival.

Safety First:

Tents mut be staked or weighed down.

All decorations must be secured safely to avoid damage or injury in case of wind.

Electric use is discouraged unless pre-approved by festival staff. Any approved electronics must be battery operated.

In case of inclement weather that makes conditions unsafe, tents competition will be delayed.

Ideas / Suggestions:

Tropical Escape: Palm leaves, flamingos, tiki torches (LED), and island music.

Sunset at the Vineyard: Blend ocean blues and wine reds, with wine bottle lanterns and sunset backdrops.

Jimmy Buffett Vibes: Parrot heads, flip-flops, beach chairs…and wine

Nautical Nods: Fishing nets, driftwood signs, seashells, and lighthouses.

Wine Down Island Style: Use wine corks, bottles, and barrels creatively with beachy flair.
